Venn Innovation’s CEO, Doug Robertson, was in Ottawa this week, joining more than 20 leaders from across the country, all members of Canada's Tech Network | Réseau Tech Canada, for meetings with senior government officials, members of Parliament and Ministers. The focus of the meetings was to hold meaningful discussions around key issues facing Canada’s tech industry and to suggest possible solutions to help drive growth in Canada’s tech sector. Key topic areas discussed included creating pathways to international markets, developing and attracting highly skilled workers in tech, and boosting access to capital. The delegation also focused on key issues emerging from the recent federal budget including the proposed changes to the capital gains taxes and the announced new investments in artificial intelligence. “In Ottawa, we had the opportunity to speak with Ministers and their staff, government officials and members of the Opposition, on key challenges and opportunities facing the tech companies and founders we work with here in New Brunswick and Atlantic Canada,” said Doug. “I was particularly grateful for the time the Hon. Gudie Hutchings, Minister Responsible for Rural Economic Development and ACOA - APECA, took to meet with members of our delegation, including Shelby McDonald (StartupZone, Inc.), Carollyn Schafer (Accelerate Okanagan) and Jennifer Young, CEO of the Technology Councils of North America (TECNA).” Sincere thanks goes out to Beth Bailey and Michelle Burtch of CTN and our colleagues Avvey Peters and Julie Garner from NorthGuide for organizing this busy and successful agenda. #CanadaTechNetwork #Innovation #Collaboration #TechEcosystem #PublicPrivatePartnership #BuildingtheFuture #NewBrunswick #VennInnovation

Local francophone students recently attended an interesting presentation on AI opportunities at The Junction NB - home of Venn Innovation! The students are enrolled in Programme Pairs Leaders, an initiative from the District scolaire francophone Sud that is designed to help young people (grades 9 - 12) who are newcomers to Canada overcome language barriers, boost their self-confidence, excel in their education and integrate into their communities. The program assists them in developing leadership skills, self-awareness, autonomy and a sense of belonging. The presentation was led by Ismahil TCHAGBELE, a passionate entrepreneur certified in Artificial Intelligence by IBM. Venn Innovation is proud to work with local school districts in encouraging tomorrow's young entrepreneurs! #innovation #entrepreneurship #youth
